It has been an absolute age since I last made a card, in fact I can't remember when it was!! I had dropped into thinking that cards were somehow "lesser beings" which of course they aren't and so stopped making them. I intend to rectify that situation starting with these!!
I bought these DINA WAKLEY (you should visit her blog if you don't already know it......she has a fab style all her own) stamps recently from THE STAMP ATTIC.
I intended using them in my journals mainly but they are equally good used on cards. I used the top page off my work pad that was nicely splattered/sprayed and splodged as my background, adding extra touches where needed......the odd bit of stencilling through sequin waste, extra spray of ink, strip of book paper, punched hearts etc etc.....a bit like a journal page really....only smaller!!

How funny that you stepped away from cards for the reason you mentioned. And so good that you went back. You are right: cards should not be lesser then pages. It's a bit of soul that gets send in an envelope to please somebody.
Fab cards!....look forward to seeing more!
Gorgeous cards with those great stamps, Sue!
love the way you used the stamps Sue.... love Dina's stuff. xx

a la Dina, but much darker. Like Dina's evil twin that they keep locked up in the attic. Love them :)
These are fab Sue. Gorgeous backgrounds. Haven't made a card in ages and I know exactly what you mean. I also feel that people wouldn't necessarily like what I came up with. Good to see you posting.
oh yes, the "card-thing"... i´m also struggling with it and actually almost totally gave up birthday cards etc. ... should not!! your cards show that we can make cards in our own style... your´s turned out FABULOUS!! (and i have to grab these stamps, finally!!)
Oooh, these are just delicious! I added them to my blog post! You are always inspiring.
