Last Saturday I went to Sarahs.....THE ART OF MOODLING......metal book workshop at PADDYS STAMPING PLACE. I had a fab day of just playing around with metal working tools and inks and paints.
This is the front of my book.........we had small Beatrix Potter books to cover.........I had Jeremy Fisher but ended up with an owl on the front!
This is the back, I made a mistake with the lettering and ended up with a gap between the first T and the W, oh well!!
I really liked the cogs and wheels effect.........this was done by placing Tims cogs and sprockets under the metal and rubbing over to get the impression.
This is inside the front cover of my book, I coloured it with a little black paint, again a happy accident as some paint oozed over from the front so I just spread it around! I then added stamped cogs......by HOME IMPRESSIONS....to carry on the theme from the covers.
I have decided that I am going to go with the Jeremy Fishery-ness of the book and enhance the pages! So here I've added some trailing leaves, a little damp house and some buttercups!

Love what you've done with Jeremy Fisher. The cover is wonderful.
Lovely idea and interpretation of the JF theme. The metal looks fab and the altered pages look super after you have added your touches to them !
Brilliant - what a fab idea.

Stunning art work
This is so fantastic!! I have no words enough to say how I love this!
It's beautiful! I love it too.
Hi Sue, I had the pleasure of meeting you at Paddy's in Prestwich that Saturday when there were a number of you seated round her table making your book covers. I was sooooo envious!!! I had popped in to mooch around the shop during a weekend visit to Manchester and Paddy told me who she was hiding downstairs. I introduced myself and received glazed looks from all! Then I mentioned Chrissy Rollins and Chris Rowe and the lights went on again!!! Anyway, the two Chrisses often mention your fab work to me and I have to admit, now I've seen it I'm awestruck! Your blog is a rich and interesting tapestry of art and your talent speaks for itself.
Enjoy your new life in Khazakstan Sue, meanwhile, if you don't mind, I'll follow you in blogland!
Regards,
Debs :)
