The challenge theme on BIG ART ADVENTURE is "A BIRD IN THE HAND" and this is my entry. I have had such fun working on this but also such a fight with myself! This is the piece that prompted the question I asked a few days ago about using stickers!
As you can see from the pic below I went ahead and used them and I hope you will agree that they do fit into the piece quite nicely after I sanded them and added dots!
Every chicken needs a face!!
This is a small canvas that I worked on seperately and then glued in place.
FABULOUS work Sue! It made me smile as soon as I saw it. I particularly like the little canvas with the birdie on it, and the base of the piece (stickers and all). Brilliant entry for our challenge. Love Rosie ABAA
How fab is that bird!! Love the nails and screws too, and you'd never know you'd not stamped those letters or cut them from a collage sheet! Love, love, love this :)
I love this bird and I'd love to meet him - can he travel - for example, to Prestwich? The stickers look perfect in this situation, and I just love the rusty old nails and screws! see you tomorrow Chris x
he's sensational Sue. great colours and love the attention to detail, particularly on the tail and the small canvas. As for the stickers - I wouldn't have known if you hadn't said!
such a fanciful and delightful creation Sue! you have elevated stickers to new heights...I like using them too....well some of them ;) Your bird really IS brilliant in every detail!
Hello and welcome!
I like to travel and I'm incurably curious. I love my garden and I like to make things,
I like altered art and mixed media and have a leaning towards the slightly darker, weirder side of things....as you may notice!

Brilliant and I wouldn't have known they were stickers if you hadn't told us.
This is fantastic Sue!! I absolutely love it and would definitely buy it if I saw it in a shop. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration...

Mindblowing work. Would not have the first idea of this never mind to make it. Definitly worth all those labout pains.
Wonderful, wonderful piece. the sticker letters are absolutely fine. I have no problems with them at all. This is the way to use them.
Very lovely piece Sue....like the base reminds me of all those nasty spikes they put on surfaces to stop the pigeons landing !
Wonderful inspirational work Sue.The canvas you created is gorgeous and sits so well in its surroundings.
