Ten for a bird

Sometimes what you like coincides with current trends ..........but that tends to put me off slightly.......like birds...........they have been so popular recently.....well, for quite some time..... but then I thought..........
sod it, I'm not going to let that stop me doing something birdy, so here it is!

 Ingredients for a journal page............
raffle tickets, a stencil, (texture paste not shown), paint, ink, dip pen and old plastic card..................

  and a fat Moleskine journal!

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told,
Eight for a wish,
Nine for a kiss
Ten for a bird
You must not miss.

Fabulous, I absolutely love the background, are the squares on the bird a stencil? I love the squares. Your bird is cool and so is that text. Inspired. Tracy x x

Great book, Sue - lovely work and especially the mosaic effect you achieved. Know how you feel, too because I'm exactly the same - loved Celtic stuff till it became fashionable, etc, etc... Now I just do what I please and don't care and I love birds, so they figure big time! Fab stuff x

Love the bird ! Fab colours & composition !! Sometimes taking the trend & turning it on it's head is as cool as not being trendy at all !! I know what you mean about when everyone is doing it, its time to move on ! Think the whole Tim Holtz craze is that way with me - with alternative having become a commercial empire ! But I'm not to proud to use the best of his products either !!
The local art shop is having a competition to submit art on deep 5" canvasses & I have turned it the wrong way round & made a sort of a mixed media birdhouse affair - using the recess as a nest - it's going to look a bit different next to all those neat little paintings !! Ali x

I so love your style! Do I just stop by to tell you that every month? well, yea, sorta! And you shouldn't worry about any trend-you would always make it your own! You could give carebears an edge!
