To buy or not to buy that is the question

Yesterday I asked the question of  my FaceBook friends "where is a good place to get Washi tape?".....I got several good answers and I have since bought a few rolls.........several people also said that they make their own...............mmmmm so, this afternoon I had a play!

I started with a roll of brown tape......stuck the ends down and painted with gesso.

Next I added some colour.......for the top 2 in the pic I used acrylic paints but for the 3 at the bottom I used Promarkers.............this is a first for me, I only bought them this week cos they were in the sale at Hobbycraft.....£3.99 for pack of 5 ......but I like the alcohol-inkiness of them. Next I added some stamped dots and text.

So, I used my homemade strips along with some bought ruler and Union Jack strips and a roll of bus tickets to cover my journal pages.........this idea was inspired by Hermine Koster who has also been playing with Washi tape.

I added one of my fav STAMPOTIQUE images to the page.....coloured with the Promarkers.....I liked that I can still be grungy with them....... and stamped FOUND (also from Stampotique) in black paint and outlined with white ink

O my Sue... Your washi tape looks delicious... Now I need to try it too. Bad you, enabling me. I need to study more photography instead of making Washi tape... Your page looks so inviting. Love all the browns with the black. You got it babe!
