At home we make SLOE GIN every year with sloes picked from the local fields.
Well, we are not at home in UK this year so we made SLOE VODKA this weekend instead!
While walking in the local park on Saturday we spotted some sloe bushes so today we went back and picked some........
....... bottles of local WILD GOOSE VODKA......nice label.....was purchased from the local shop...........
........ the sloes were stabbed with a fork and then added to the empty vodka bottles...........
.......add sugar.........
........top up with vodka and shake to dissolve the sugar. Now all you need is PATIENCE and regular shaking!! The vodka is already going a lovely purple colour.

Looks like you're going to have some fun with that at Christmas, Luverrly yum:0) xx
Ah, well we regularly make Damson Gin (but I'm sure vodka would work just as well) as we don't currently have a source of sloes. We'll drink it at Christmas, when I find it refreshes the parts other drinks don't reach ... it seems to go right down to my toes!! Happy days.
my sister makes Sloe Gin, after picking sloes every year from the field we camp in :) It's yummy, let us know what sloe vodka takes like - worth making though just for the bottle label by the looks of it :)
Ohh I just love Sloe Gin, wonder what the Vodka will be like?
d'you know I've never tried sloe gin (or vodka either!) but I've made my first ever damson gin this year. trouble is I have to keep trying it lol. ROFL - the word verification is "suefatie"
Looks great, Sue. Last Sunday we picked our grapes for making our own wine (130 litres this year!).
ooh lovely........we went collecting conkers today....not quite the same thing is it!!!
Annette
oooo I love sloe gin xxxx
OMG can I come to the party????
We make Sloe Vodka as we don't like gin - made blackberry vodka too last year - both turned out VERY well!!! It'll be just right by Christmas - enjoy!
xx
So, when we get an indecipherable post we'll know why ;)
Love sloe gin and sloe brandy, but can't drink vodka :(
Mmm, now with vodka that sounds nice for a change. I have a big demi-john of Sloe on the go ready for Xmas.
Hugs
Kay
