Saturday saw us heading to the Museum of London to see The Cheapside Hoard, an amazing collection of 16th and 17th century jewellery that was discovered in 1912 hidden buried in a cellar
It was gobsmacking to think that this stuff was so old, it was intricate and absolutely beautiful.
In the evening we stayed in the city to go on a Jack the Ripper walk......we have wanted to do this for ages so it was good to finally do it! I thought it might be a bit creepy but it wasn't too bad!!!
Sunday morning saw us getting up early and heading back into the city to join a mud-larking tour along the banks of the Thames. It was lead by an archaeologist and it was really interesting!!!Last time I was in London I bought a necklace made from sections of old clay pipe stem that had been found on the banks of the river......now I have some of my own to make something with.
All in all it was a great weekend! Can't wait till next time!
