I hate sewing!

Quite a while ago my friend TRACY suggested that we do something different and make some sewn Santas.
So, off we went and bought fabrics etc which we then put into a cupboard and forgot about .....until last week when we decided it was time to get them made.

.....mmmmm doesn't look much  like Santa yet!

Here is Tracy ironing some part or other on day one of Santa making............little did we know what went into toy making.............day one and no where near finished!

So, today while it was doing this outside we determined to get the thing finished..........

.....with the help of many of these we set to...............

This is what mine looked like at the start of today...........
.......during the day I came to hate this Santa.........I wasn't over keen before we started today having had enough on the first day.........at one point he ended up thrown across the floor (sorry about fizzy pic)

.....and with a needle stuck in his head...........not really his fault, more the crap instructions in the Tilda book we were working from...........so vague as to be of little use!
I ended up making it up as I went along!

Anyway after much perseverance he is finally finished and I am so glad it is done......
NEVER AGAIN am I going to make another!
I hated dressmaking at school.....I am old enough that at school (girls only grammar school) I was made to take sewing cos I was a girl even though I HATED it and making this made me remember those days!

So here he is my one and only TILDA SANTA!

I HATE bloody sewing too, but I so enjoyed my couple of days at yours, if nothing else we had such a laugh, at one point I was crying, especially when we did something wrong yet again. I am still bloody sewing mine, damn thing. Enjoy him and give him pride of place with the snowmen. Thanks Sue, Tracy x

Thank goodness someone else hates sewing,, I'm a bit worried... my OH bought me a sewing machine for Christmas cos I mentionrd How popular it is in the craft world It means I'll have to use it :o( I'm happy with faux stitches!

He really is cute!
I too am a member of the "I hate sewing" club. I was forced to sew in my teens because I was too tall to find long enough pants. I learned to loath it. I use my machine now to stitch paper together for altered artwork. Glad it came in handy for something!

gosh, lots of us girls grammar school survivors here! I didn't mind sewing at school, just wasn't very good at it! Hence why I like my random style of stitching with my machine.
Santa looks great now he's done. Huge, huge, huge congratulations on persevering with him :)
ps you got more snow than we did!!!

You hate to sew? Oh no! You're doing an amazing job with Mr. Claus.

Well, you may hate sewing but I think he is charming. Loved that box you did too, a few posts back. I'm playing catch up and I've loved everything you've made. Even the creepy little skeleton doll in the Christmas box! Weirdo.

Cheers,
Kathy

But it was so worth it to persevere... I had to laugh so hard with him on the floor. It's the kind of thing I would do too. We were made to knit in school and that was my personal hell...
I love how your Santa came out. Tall and slender, with a cute face. Well done! How many people can say they sewed their own personal Santa?

He looks fine! I've made a few things from the Tilda books, the instructions are a bit vague sometimes...and if you hate sewing anyway :)
